the Mission
The ME218C class has been contracted by an intergalatic corporation to respond to a distress signal and rescue miners that are trapped beneath the surface on a faraway planet. Each team must developing a Basic All-Terrain Planetary Observation and Detections (BATPODS) which consists of a planetary vehicle (ROAMER) and an orbital controller (POD). The ROAMER must carry a remote camera (SPECIAL), which will provide visual feedback for navigation on the foreign planet. The POD must be able to gain control of any vehicle developed by any team. Similarly, our vehicle must be compatible with PODs from other teams.
Basic Game Play: Three ROAMERS will collaborate to rescue a small group of miners trapped by an underground explosion The goal is to locate the miners (with only the use of the SPECIAL camera view), open the hatch containing the survival chamber, and carry the chamber to the extraction point Control of the ROAMERS will switch between various PODs throughout the mission The SPECIAL contains 3 lamps that can increase visibility in the dark mine; turning them on will increase depletion rate of charge on the SPECIAL The SPECIAL must be charged via the single shaft of natural sunlight at the Landing Zone |
